The Superintendent of the City Fire Brigade..sought exemption for Sydney Cromwell Hfilthouse (Newtown) and P. J. Hiley (Central), both firemen. Mileys case was adiourned 6ine die, and tho other appeal was withdrawn, as the ap.pellant is in the Home Service Class. William Melville, fire brigadesman, Newtown, appealed on the ground of public intSfgst; and forwarded a birth certificate to. show, that he was under age. His appeal was allowed. Appeals for tho following wireless operators were adjourned sine die:—Arthur Head, James Stanley Scott, William Mouat Bolt : Veitch, John , Aloysms Heavey, and Leonard Vincent Blyth Sutton. The appeal of Randall Fergus M'Kay, also a wireless operator, was adionmed till August.' ; Clarence Herbert Snow, junior, shearer, appealed on the grounds of public interest and undue hardship, and the board adjpnrned the ca-so until the first sitting after November 17. An appeal by Robert Carter, shearer and farm band. Aohanea, on the grounds of public interest and undue hardship, was withdrawn and formally dismissed. In the enses of Colin Angus Lovell and Joseph Dillon, shearers, decision was reserved'till this morning. .Ati adjournment sine die was made in the case of John Richard Lloyd Hammond, farmer. Rata. Thomas William Burrcll, farmer, whose eafls had been adjourned from April i, appealed on'the grounds of public interest find undue hardship. The board reserved its decision. ( • The bo'nrd dccided to reinstate the apneal of ;Eriiesf. Alexander C.ildow, oommercial traveller, which had been die- , missed earlier in the- week because the' appellant failed to apnear. Th? board adjourned till 10 o'clock this morning.
