SERIOUS DAMAGE AND LOSSES OF STOCK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, June 2. The llood-wotcrs on the Taieri Plain aro going down very slowly, and the length of time tho land has been submerged is a serious matter for winter feed, especially the turnip and mangel crops. The damage by tho flood and the losses of stock will bo more serious than anticipated. At Kaitangat-a last night it was found necessary to blow up an old lock to lot tho water away, but this did not giro much relief. Part of tho main road is washed awav and tho township partially isolated. Railway communication cannot bo restored until the water recedes considerably. ■ •
