An unusually fine display of amateur billiards was witnessed by a large and enthusiastic audience last night in the war fund billiard diner tourney at Alcock's. The first two pairs to go to the tables were-.—A Section: J Stevens and G. Bradley, and in B Section, E Morse and AV. J): Sendall; Bradley and Morse proving the winners of well-contested games. In the second round, E.. G. Robertson beat A. J. Mills in B Section, and U. IJ. Porter beat W. J. 'fucker in A Section. This latter game was probably one of the best of its kind yet played in New Zealand.
