NEWSPAPERS AMALGAMATE
RESULT OF PAPER SHORTAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hckitika, May 31. An arrangement has been made whereby an amalgamation of the "Hokitika Guardian" and the "West Coast Times" newspapers lias been made. In conse' quence, from ito-morrbw "the "Times" suspends publication. The reason, for suspension is the shortage of paper and tho difficulty of obtaining supplies. The "Times" has been circulating in tho district for fifty-two years, and is the oldest established daily paper on the" Coast. The proprietors announce that the suspension is probably only for the duration, of tho war.
