SERIES OF RESOLUTIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Qunedin, May 31). At the annunl comcrence of too farmers' Union, Mr. A. i'raser, Lawrence, was, elected president, and Air. \Y. .U. Trotter, Hampden, vice-president. Tile lolluwing resolutions were carried: —"That members bo.asked to purcliaso only tsiitisn iinpleinciits and trade only witnin fliu Empire"; "that the liovcniment bo asked to leave the Noxious Weeds and Rabbits Acts in abeyance- till the men return from the war"; "that the saJo of National Endowment and Crown lands bo held 'over till after the war for tho benefit of returning soldiers"; "that tho conference approves of the formation of a Farmers' auil ■Producers' Shipping Company"; "that the Finance Act bo amended and made more equitable"; "that a protest be made against the importation of luxuries, and that, a tiu be placed on all places of amusement"; "that rural industries bo cx- ; eluded from the jurisdiction of the Arbitration , Act.''. ' Tho following were referred l<> the Dominion Conference: "That inquiry bo made into the method of disposing <•!' New Zealand incut on the Homo markets"; ".when farmers are drawn in tho ballot and arc unable to sell their farm?, the Government take- the properties over for returned soldiers, the prico to be fixed by arbitration";, "that Territorial camps and cadet training lie abandoned during tho war"; "that (ho Government be urged to consider the conservation of white pino supplies, and plant wasto lauds with trees suitable for butler boxes"; "that after the war the Government bo urged to proceed at the earliest possiblo moment with a scheme for harnessing water-power"; "that limitatiou of ; prices for commodities such as manures, binder twine, implements, fencing wire, etc., bo adopted"; "that tho conference emphatically protests against tho butterfat tax"; "that six o'clock closing of hotels .prevail during the war and six months aftci<f; "that it is necessary for farmers to federate to check the actions /and demands of labour."

A motion in favour of reorganisation throughout tho Dominion and the appointment of an organiser was referred to the Dominion and provincial executives.
