Alter tho opening performance there will bo two exhibitions 'a day. "Intolerance" is the only production made by ilr. Griffith siuce "The Birth of a Aatioii," and it is said to far surpass that great masterpiece. There aro iuur parallel stories, Hashing back ami forth tracing a universal theme through various periods or history in Babylon, Judca, L'aris, and America. The modern story is a presentment of the evils that follow misguided attempts of so-called reformers to regulate, the lives and actions of those who are less fortunate. The battle scenes In ancient Babylon before and at tho time of Its fall aro claimed to bo tho most marvellous ever' depicted. The irresistible, sweep of tho multitudinous hosts, of Cyrus the Great towards tho doomed city, tho attack on the walls where tho besiegers use great lowers and catapults, tho hand-to-hand fighting on the walls, in the streets, and in tho palace, the scenes at the feast in the great hall a mile long, are said to bo reproduced with an effect that is positively startling. Throughout the whole production runs a complex musical score, played by a larpe symphony orchestra. Thp box plan for the first s-ix nights and five first aftornoon performances will bo opened on Friday at the Bristol.
