THE CRAGO CASE
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.' 15y Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, May 20. At the Magistrate's Court (o-day the Waikeria Prison escapee, Robert Da»per Crago, who made a sensational r.ttack on Edward Henry Peebles, a Hamilton taxidriver, on the Hamilton-Cambridge road, on May_lß, by passing a cord round his neck, rendering, him unconscious, was arraigned on three charges, as follow: Assaulting Edward Henry Peebles, and causing him actual Ijodily harm; theft of a bicycle and suit of clothes, (he property of Clarence Kelly; and, being a prisoner iu legal custody, did escnno front confinement before his term had expired. Accused pleaded guilty to the charge of theft, and was convicted and ordered to conic up for sentenco when called ipon. On the other charges lie pleaded not jrnilty, and elected to be tried by a jury. He was committed for trial at the criminal session of thn Hamilton Supreme Court, to be held on June 5. .
