STRUCK BY A TRAMCAR
4——_ UNKNOWN MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL. The unknown man who was admitted to the General Hospital on Monday night suffering from concussion of. the bruin, died at 8.15 a.m. yesterday. The motorman who was driving the tramcar that struck deceased stated that when about opposite the Bank of New South Wales he saw deceased stagger from the footpath on to the tramline. The motorman fang- the gong repeatedly, and at once applied the emergency brakes—too late, however, to avert an accident. An inquest will be held this afternoon. Deceased was about 48 years of age, ]Ost. in weight, Sft. Sin. in height, with dark hair and a brown moustache, both turning grey. He was dressed in an almost new 'brown suit, a soft shirt, a grey "flannel, a dark grey overcoat, a pair of black lace-up boots (No. 7, with the New Zealand Clothing Company's tabs on them), and a pair of grey woollen socks. He-has an upper set of false teeth, with one tooth broken in front.
