Y.M.C.A. WAR WORK
RECENT SUBSCRIPTIONS
The national headquarters of the Y.M.C.A. during tho past few days lias been favoured with tho following contributions io assist it in its work at home and abroad for our soldiers:—Tailiape and District Patriotic Society, JS.2H (monthly contribution); Dunedin Trench Comforts Fund, £200; John 0. Bidwill, ifillKl; New Plymouth Patriotic Society, XS Us.; collected by a Gisborno resident, JilflG; through Masterton Y.M.C.A., MM, for comforts, and £oM for war work; Hawke's Bay War ltelicf Association, iVi Ja. K?. Of this latter sum from Hawke's Bay, £Sr> is from tho Nuliaka Patriotic Society for tho Y/.M.C.A. Natioual War Fund, and -£56 4«. Id. from tho Waipukurau Patriotic Society, for comforts for soldiers in Mesopotamia. The .£24G from Masterton was collected i>y tho ladies of Martinborough, and has been entrusted to the association for distribution in tho following proportions:— .£IOO in Egypt, .£IOO in Franco, and £10 through the association or the High Commissioner in London for tho New- Zealand Wireless Troop in Mesopotamia. Borne difficulty lias been experienced in getting money and comforts through to Mesopotamia, and now the Y.M.C.A. is being given, a trial.
