ENTERTAINMENTS
GUANI) OPERA JJOUSI:
Three performances of "Tho Silver King" have been given at tlio (.intnd Opera House, and each has been a .success. The number of times this play hiis been revived in Wellington, and the attendances which still patronise it, nro some indication as to the quality, interest is \i;cll maintained throughout -the present performance, and the play is well presented. Mr. Tiiohy as AVilfred Denver, tub man on whom the crime is lixed, acquits himself admirably, while a good impression is made by Mr. Kdward Kenna as tho "Spider." The other members of the company all contribute towards tho success of. 'the entertainment. "Tho Silver King" will be repeated for three moro nights. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Entertaining ami bright describes the programme submitted at His Majesty's Theatro this week. Thero are several new arrivals, the principal ones being Tim and Gertie- Moore, a pair of dusky entertainers of ability. Tim wears an cxpansivo grin, which is very infectious, and ho and his sprightly partner manage to. keep the audience in a happy mood. A reappearance is made by the Cavanna Duo, tho slack wire-walker and the dancing harpist, and they receive their share of applause. Dora Oberman contributes a number of delightful songs towards the evening's entertainment, and scvornl other good artists also contribute items.
THE ENGLISH PIERROTS. At tho Concert Chamlwr to-night, the English Pierrots will present the cnr--rent bill for tho last time. So bright and merry is tho show that it has served to confirm the excellent impression inado by tho opening programme, and tho lioneos drawn during the past week havo been no less satisfactory than those of tlio previous week
In tho new bill 10-morrow Iho burlesque oratorio "Marys Lamb," by the Village Choir, is Raid to bo a "scream" from start to finish, and another original item is entitled "Taking a Picture for tho Movies." All the members of tho company will be seen in an entirely different variety of items from those in previous programmes. Miss Elsa Langley's Dutch character eonga aro eaid to bo charming, and Miss Billie Wilson in hor "slavey" turn is said to score heavily. To avoid disappointment it is lulvisablo to reserve 6cats at the Bristol.
