ENEMY GAINS AND LOSES AGAIN. The High Commissioner reports:— ~„,,. ° London, May 26, 1.30 p.m. A French official report states: "After a very violent bombardment of our tranches north-west of Braye-en-Craonnis, tho Germans launched, three strong columns in an assault on a salient of our line in the Pantheon sector, ijortli ot Chemin-dea-Dames. In spite of sanguinary losses, after several attempts tho tiorinans gained a footing at several points along our advanced trench, I'wnieaiato counter-attacks enabled us to retake the greater part of the trench In the region of Chevrcux; the enemy made a counter-attack solely by his artillery on the nositions wo conquered yesterday. A German oflicial report states: "We drove back English advances on the Wytschaeto sector and north-east of Armentieies.
