COLLEGE GOVERNORS
The monthly meeting of tho Wellington Collego and Girls' High School Board of Governors was held yesterday, the Hon. J. G. AV. Ailken, M.L.C., presiding. There were also present: Messrs. .1. P. Luke (Mayor of Wellington), W. Allan, A.AVarburton, AV. H. P. Barber, AS r . P. AS r ard, and Professor.Eastorfiold. Tho financial statement showed that the credit balance at tho bank was ,£5197 4s. 7d., and lodged, but not credited, i!2B 4s. 9d. Payments required wero: Wellington Collego, «C 727 13s. 2d.j Girls' College, JC492 Is. Cd. Foes outstanding wore: AVollinglon College, second term, and fees outstanding, .£1358 3s. Cd.; Girls' Collego, first term and arrears, .£52 7s. 4d.: total. .£l4lO 10s. lOd. Rents outstanding were, ,£331 13s. 2d. This brought the balanco up to ,£5765 15s. Bd. A. letter was received from llio Railway Department, asking what effect, if any, tho reduced train services had had on tho pupils attending tho schools. It was decided to reply that the reduction, of services had had no affect on tho pupils. The chairman pointed out that the Technical School would probably be affected moro than tfio collego.
