AGGREGATION AND TRANSFER OF LAND
, ' (To the- Editor.) Sir,-Seeing that right on from now land will be required for returned soldiers, it behoves the Minister and Laud Boards to be most careful 'in B™ntnis transfers to people who already hold enough land to return them a decent.mcome° At the present timo I thmklhe Government should insist on having tno first refusal of .all land oficred for sale. We must all recognise that there will not be onotfgli .unimproved land to go round. Tho Minister is acquiring improved estates' for subdivision for soldiers, and I think it would bo quite right to take individual small areas for the same purpose. Day by day. aggregation goes on, to the decided detriment ot the Snots and Dominion. Thanking you in anticipation,—l am, etc.,
F. W. BEECHEY. ' TTho suggestion put forward by our' Jrresponotnt that' the.. Crown should take advantage of any proposals to transfer holdings to secure the land for returned, soldiers is one deserving of consideration.! '
