ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MOTORING FATALITY. CAUSED BY BURSTING TIRE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, May 21. By the bursting of a front tire, a motor-car, with a parly of Tciuuka people going to Oaiuaru, capsized on a straight bit of road near Otaio. Thomas Latta, licensee* of tho Empire Hotel at'Tcmuka, was killed; Mrs. iM'Cntelieon sustained a broken shoulder blade, and was severely bruised; Mr. Daly sustained scalp wounds; Miss .tfallera, slight bruises and shock. Another-car which was near gave assistance. Tho car was said to huve been going at a moderate pace. KILLED BY~A PALL. Gore, May 24. J. A. Yule, commission agent, aged 53, was found dead this morning. He had evidently stumbled into a ditch; his neck was dislocated. ' KILLED BY TRACTION ENGINE. Chrlstchurch, May 24. James Carlton, aged thirty-three, a resident of Kiccarton, was run over by a traction-engine last night at AVaiau. Both legs were .fractured, and he died this morning. SUDDEN DEATH. James Matthew Hayden, a labourer, died suddenly at his home in Tory Street at i o'clock yesterday morning. Aβ the deceased- had not been attended by a medical man an inquest will be held at 9.30 a.m. to-day. Hayden was a married man, aged about 56 years. ,
