May 20, 5.5 p.m.) London, May 19., Seven members of the Engineers' Striie Committee have been arrested, arid charged under the Defence of the Bealm Act with impeding the supply of muni..tions. They have been remanded. The .police also raided the meeting of shone' stewards at Walvorth, and seized papers. SETTLEMENT REACHED AGREEMENT WITH EXECUTIVE - (Eec. May 20, 5.5 p.m.) i London, May 19. At a conference with the Engineers' Executive, Mr. Lloyd George presiding, the following proposals -were accepted:— Tiie Engineers' Executive and shop stewards to issue instructions to the men to resume forthwith; the Executive Council to negotiate with the Goverenment regarding the existing differences, and endeavour to continue this practice, w.th *. view of avoiding future stoppages; no further arrests are to be made. The arrested committee men have been released on their own recognisances pending the hearing of the case.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
