The schooner has been laid up at Freeman's Bay, 'Auckland, for some time, and was recently thoroughly overhauled and repainted at a, cost of about £900. She is a vessel of 64 tons gyoss, with a cargo-carrying capacity of 90 tons. Her length is 78 feet, beam 20 feet 6 inches, and depth (loaded), 6 feet 8 inches. She is fitted with a Hercules engine, which is reversible. > She,ha.s also a 5-h.p. oil hoist on dec!;. News received from Rotterdam says that tho Germans have succeeded in raising the N.D.IJ. liner Gncisenau, which was sunk by the Belgians in Antwerp Harbour before the evacuation in 19H. Thus the last hindrance to shipping entering the harbour has been removed. Th,e Oneisenau originally left Bremen on July 29, 1914, for Australian ports, and arrived «■!. Antwerp a day later. Owing t» the war she was seized by the Belgians on August 4. and was sunk in the Schedlt two months later. The Dnnedin agents for the Houto have received advico that tho schooner arrived at Onehunga on Saturday morning from Kainara, The Houto was to commence loading a cargo of timber at the Itonakaii port on Monday for Dunedin. The vessel should reach Wellington about May 26. and on completion of discharge she will go to Port Chalmers to have two sets of new Sknndia oil engines installed. The IVaverley came off the Wellington Potent Slip yesterday, and is havini; alterations completed. It is honed that she will again commence running iu tho Wellington-Paten trade thfc week.
