At the Military Service Board application was made for ' rehearing of the caso of William Orr Campbell, secretary to the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, on the ground that rew material evidenco was now available. The chairman of directors of the company pointed out that the industry was an . essential one. The general manager was ill. The assistant to the manager in London had died, and the company wae unable to get anyone with necessary training and experience to take Campbell's place. The hoard refused to grant a rehearing, but gave Campbell an extension of time till the Second Division was called, the company in the meantime to take such steps as it thinks fit to find a man to. understudy Campbell.
