DISAPPEARANCE OF A WOMAN
Sydnoy, May 11. At an inquest on Sirs. James, whose body was found on the shoro of Limekiln' Bay, George's River, Oatlcy, on April 22, an open verdict was returned, Owing to the decomposed condition of the remains it was impossiblo to determine the cause of death. The woman had probably been dead three or four months. Her linsband was unablo to explain tlie disappearance of liis wife, who was an eccentric. ■[Mrs. Jaines left her homo on January 27 with her husband, who is a. cripple as a result of ail accident he : met with wliile working as a miner in , the AYollongong district sixteen years j ago. Ho was leading a horse, it | being his intention to go beyond the ' Cabramatta railway station, to wliicn ! they were walking, and get a sulky. On reaching the station, Mrs. James | told lier husband that she would wait | there until he came back, but wlien he returned "she was not there. Ho endeavoured to trace lier, and when lie failed he reported lier disappearance to the local police. Ho also' advertised for her, but could not obtain any information as to her. Her body, when found, was unrecognisable, but-ho identified her clothing. Mrs. •Tames, who was born at Marseilles, i France, was a woman of educational and musical attainments, being a B.A. and an A.L.C.M. She came to Sydney frorii Now Zealand, where she was a scliool teacher, and was teaching at Parramatta. up to the time of lior disappearance.
