AN ALLIED PROTEST TO THE
PREMIER
Athens, May 0. The Allied Ministers have protested to M. Zaimis (Premier) regarding the recent discovery of hidden arms, and .demand that effectual measures be itssd as to other hoards. The honesty of purpose of M. Zaimis is beyond doubt, but it seems that he is unable to pievent 1 Athens being a hotbed of spies. This is the greatest danger to General Sarrail's forces.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE RECENT B.AIDS BY IRREGULAR. BANDS. London, May 9. The "Daily Mail's" correspondent at Athens quotes a letter from Colonel Metaxas statiiig_ that the Greek Crown Prince (Prince George) was acquainted with the doings of tho Comiiadjis (irregulars) in Thessaly, who were organising ambushes for the Allios. The Prince only intervened to stop the irregulars when it was evident that tho Allies had learnt of tho Comitadjis' activities. —Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
ACTIVITY IN MACEDONIA HEAVY BOMBARDMENT BY THE ALLIES. (Rec. May 10, 8.5 p.m.) London, May 9. A French official report Sro'm Macedonia- states: "Our artillery is active along the'whole front. British aeroplanes successfully bombed tho enemy's depots at Dedli and Paljorca. Contrary to the allegations in the German communique of May 8, there was no attack on the Cerna salient." —Aus.N.Z. May 10, 6.30 p.m.) London, May !). A Gorman official report states: "The enemy attacked at numerous points betweon Lake Presba and Lake Doiran. Repeated assaults were heavily repulsed.
