The Goodyear Tyre and Bnbber Co. have entered into tlie business of supplying synthetic soles, which will, in the near future, it is claimed, very materially supplant leather as the sole material of hoots and shoes. For many years the. shortage of sole leathers lias been increasingly apparent. Years back a Rood pair of soles could be put on boots for a few shillings. Now tlie price of good sole leather lias risen considerably. Noting the growing scarcity of leather some years back, tlie experimental department ,in the Goodyear laboratories set themselves tho task of nroviding a material that would take the p'nre of leather as soling for boots. The new material is known as Neolin, and will, it is contended, outwear two ordinary leather soles. Neolin has been adopted »v Ihe United States Navy "DepartniMV- it is already being used-very extensively ks "uuderstenli«2f," W the United State. Progandra quickly sures Corns—Advt.
