BOROUGH OF KAROR

Mr. B. G. H. Burn, who was reelected as Mayor of Kaiori, was installed in offico last evening. Thero was a full attendance of councillors, live of whom wero now members. There was no. election at Karori either for Mayor, or council.

Tlio Mayor, ill assuming o/Kcc, mado a brief 'Speech. Ho thanked the old council for. the confidence reposed in him, and .congratulated the new councillors on their' election. Ho hoped they had como to the council table not to look after any, one portion of the borough, but to conserve the interests of the entire borough. Ho would endeavour to hold the balance of power and conduct the proceedings of the council with impartiality. Thcro had been, ho said, no important question in respect to public works before the borough during the past two years, except the water schomo, which, tho ratepayers thought fit to throw out. Ho was of opinion that tho 6cheme would "havo to como before tho ratepayers again. He trusted that any question that came before the council would recoivo the closest attention of tho new members.

Councillors Henderson, A. Hamilton, Skegg (old councillors), and H. Dryden and other new members of the council, spoke in eulogistic terms of the past services of the Mayor, and full confidence was expressed in him.
