. TREATMENT OP SOLDIERS IN •HOSPITALS. An indication ; was given yesterday ■by the Minister of I'ublio Health (the •Hon. G. W. ltussell) of the work being done by his Department in caring for returned sick and wounded soldiers. • At the time of tho compilation of 'the last return, April 23, there were no fewer than 564 patients under treatment. Of these 437 were in-patients, aiid . the remaining 137 out-patients. Some of these men are discharged, and others are still members of the force, but all of them have been on active service. - Men who fall sick in. cainp are dealtivith in the military hospitals attached to tho camps. 'Of <he men under ■ treatment, 193 in-patients Sand 74 out-patients aro undischarged, and. of the discharged men 234 are Inpatients and 63 : out-patients. The ibiilk of the men are... at the two big institutions at R-ot-oriia and Hanmer. 'At Rotorua there are; 119 soldiers and Co discharged men, and at Hanmer 45 soldiers and 20 discharged men. Mr.'
llussell stated that excellent work was , being done in the Taiimaru Hospital ' at Lowry Bay, which . institution was •'under the matronsbip of Mrs. Rolleston. Sixteen men are under treatment at Lowry Bay, 12 discharged soldiers and four undischarged. \v
