BRITISH ADVANCE IN MESOPOTAMIA
FOLLOWING UP THE 18th TURKISH ARMY CORPS
London, April 30.
An official report from Mesopotamia states: "The Turkish 18th Army Corps was reported on Friday to be entrenching astride the Tigris, fifteen miles northward of Samara. It is ascertained that this corps, during the fighting on April 18, 21, and 22, lost about 4000 mon. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
THE FIGHTING IN SINAI BRITISH LOSSES ACCORDING TO TURKEY. (Rec. May 1, 7 p.m.) London, April 30. A' Turkish wireless official report states: "It is estimated that tliero are three thousand British dead before our front in. the Sinai theatre. One prisoner stated that his divisionof ten thousand was reduced to four thousand. The number of prisoners is daily increasing."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assu.Renter.
