Garland, retiring president of tile Waimiito .Farmers' s Lnion, stated ".S a. meeting on Saturday last that h« had interviewed the Commissioner of 'iW.es with reference to tho unjust iucidenon of the excess profits tax. The Commissioner had admitted that tin incidence had not been at all as expected, mid that legislation would be introduced in June to remedy tho mistakes. Pl'he Commissioner of Taxes informed a. reporter yesterday that all 'bo said was that if the taxation on excess profits was to be continued this year it would havo to be readjusted.]
