RUNAWAY TRAIN
INQUIRY OPENED. By Telegraph.-Prpss Association. Pahlatua, April 23> 'A. Departmental inquiry was opened to-day concerning a runaway night train at Mangamairo. The engine had teen ; uncoupled for shunting and the ■rest of the train, comprising two carriages (with, several passengers); and several trucks, tliou moved off steadily down an incline several miles towards Pahiatua station. No damage . was reported. The engine subseguently went after tho runaway train. •
