ANZAC DAY
TO-NIGHT'S DEMONSTRATIONS. ■ The people of Wellington will'have an opportunity to hear something touiglit which ought to stimulate public interest, and at the same time foster the same spirit of patriotism which animated the people at the beginning of the war.' The demonstration arranged to "bo held this e-veniug at the Grand Opera House will bring before the public the vivid story of immortal Anzac. The jrugged liills of Anzac, which Major Waite will show and explain, will bear testimony that the path the landing party had to tread required courage and enthusiasm. Sir James Carroll) who recently returned from Europe, will giye his impressions of the Western front. /The ActingPrime Minister, Sir James Allen, will preside, and some of the best artists will contribute appropriate items. The Trentham Military Band will also be in attendance:
A-ihoetinij of the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association ■will be held at 11- o'clock this morning to commemorate Anzac Day. Addresses will be. delivered by the Hon. A. L. Herd man. Hon. A. M. Myc-is, and Hon. G. W.,Russell. A memorial service to the brave men who fell at Gfailinoli is to be held in tlie large Town Hall on Wednesday. The will be conducted by the Rev. T)r. Gibb, Rev. A. M. Johnson, Rev. W. A. Evans, and Rev. E. Drake. The great day will bo observed at Lower Htitfc on Wednesday, when a half holiday will he observed and a united.relicions service will be held on the recreation Ground at 3 p.m.
