THE WATERSIDE AGREEMENT

At a meeting of the Dunedin Watersidors' Union the' new agreement' entered into at the recent conference at Wellington' was discussed. A secret' ballot.was then taken on the proposals, resulting in 115 voting for acceptance and 13 against. The' result has been forwarded to Wellington. '"■;'. THE RECENT BALLOT. It is expected that to-day or to-mor-row Mr. J. Roberts, secretary, of the Waterside Federation, will know.tha result of the ballot taken on the question of accepting or rejecting the new J agreement prepared between the en> - ployers and the employees, at the re- ' cent conference. Mr. Roberts has been. "• waiting for the results .from all cen- . tres before handing the information over .for publication; Some of the places, such as Westport and Greymouth, are fairly inaccessible owing to; the dislocated boat services, "and the absence of these returns is delaying ' the compiling of the grand total. Some fourteen centres have forwarded their returns. .'."■■""'
