Two'hiin--dred and-thirty-five were returned "from Ghent in an exhausted and dying conclition. .The deported men were un■derfed and transported in open 'trucks' in the hitter cold. Dr. Beebt says' that it is high- : Jy 'significant that only the' vaccinated: prisoners developed tuberculosis. Ho did not hold that would 'be too deep', for tlie people to commit such'a crime,, but there must be evidence to support v'such statements. It would have beeir almost more humane if the Germans had killed some of the prisoners who' had been' sent home. . , • .
