Messrs. Levin and. Co.. advised -yesterday that the departure of the Rarawa from New Plymouth for Onehunga was postponed a day, and the vessel did not leave until last night. She leaves Onehunga on Monday as.usual for New Plymouth.

AUCKLAND SHIPPING DERANGED. The coal shortage at Auckland is being seriously' felt in the shipping lines. In connection with the matter the Auokland "Horald" says:—Of the large users the first to be acutely affected, by the shortago is the Northern Steamship Company, •which has had to cancel some of its trips and postpone others. The company statea that if more coal does not come to hand soon more steamers will stop running next -week. One of its vessels, which is barbound at Ngunguru, has 120 tons of coal on board. Her arrival at Auckland would relieve the situation for the company, but only for a time, as it is at least 300 tons short for its vessels, and xeiy little coal is in sight. The Union Company has sufficient coal for present requirements. COLLIDES HELD UP. As a result of the coal miners' strike at Westport, several of the Union Company's colliers are being held up at the port. The Karori, Kamona, Kittawa, and Poherua have been at Westport for several days waiting for coal, but there is none available. The Karori is fixed to load there for Timaru, Oamarm and Dunedin, and the. Kamona and Kittawa for Wellington. The Kittawa was expect ed to leave to-day for Wellington. The next port of call for the Poherua ho* not yet been definitely fixed. It is very difficult to say when any of these vessols will get away. COKNNA MISSES WELLINGTON. The Union Company advise that . the Corinna, which was duo hero to-day of tomorrow from New Plymouth, will not now call at. Wellington. She will proceed direct from New Plymouth to Lyttelton and Dunedin. Also that on her trip from the south on the return to New Plymouth she will again miss her call at Wellington. The auxiliary schooner Huia left Lyttelton late last week for Auckland. After discharging the : cargo of. produce taken from the southern port, the Huia will be taken off the coast for a trip, which is a diversion from her iisunl running. She will shortly resume running in the coastal trade again. The Kini was workine the Bluff early in the week, and was to nave loaded at Dunedin yesterday for Wellington. En route from the southern port to here the vessel is to call at Oamaru and Timaru. The schooner Morning Light is" in the hands of the shipwrights, and is being converted into a lighter. When the necessary alterations have been made, and the painting and overhauling is. completed, the vessel will be used for her. new duties by the Tfew Zealand Refrigerating Company at Wanganui. ' ' , ■ •"■ Owing to there being no conl available for shipment at Westnort, the Waimca has been held up in Wellington, hut should leave hero for Nelson and the West Coast on Monday. The Kennedy, with stock, is dne here on Monday from Picton. but at nresenc nor future movements are indefinite. The- Hinemoa arrived in port, yesterday 'from Cook •Strait. Mr. G. Allport, Secretary or Marino, advises that the vessel will probably leave heTc on Tuesday, next, instead of on Monday on her periodical trip round the southern lighthouses. ' Mr. H. Glasson has joined the Karamu as purser. The Kamo did ;not get away for I.vttelton and Dunedin, but will leave for those ports to-day at noon. The Karu is due to-morrow rom New Plymouth, and will leave on Monday for the same port. She receives .cargo till 11 a.m. on Monday. It is honed 1i get the Komata away to Westport to-day. The Karamu i-. now fivd *o leave here at noon to-day for Auckland. The Wellington Waterside Workers' Union will hold a meeting to-day to consider *bc ratification of the new Agreement flrawn "i at the recent' conference with the employers. >
