Sudan grass,' which was introduced into the United States from the Sudan, is being, advocated as a hay crop. •A North Canterbury farmed sowed a plot at the end of October, and in three months it was 3ft. high. Mr. A. Macpherson, Fields ■ Instructor of the Department for Aericulikire, says that it should be possible to get three crops in one season from Sudan grass, which is an annual. The first crop is cut for seed, and the second and third would mnke hay. It is a very rapid grower, hut should not be sown until the ground is warm. In Queensland it'lias been known to grow/7ft. high in eislif weeks from sowing. Mr. Macuhersnn has obtained a quantity of seed for experimental purposes. News has reached ns concerning 'a greatly increased demand for the already famous Victor Cheese Vat. Its new principle of middle drainage and sloping 'bottom make for quicker and more, satisfactory production, which, in turn, assures bigger profits. Write for details to A. .T..
