SOUTHERN LEAGUES' (DEMANDS. Bv Telem-aph—Press 'A'ssooiatlor. Timaru, 'April 13. The executive of trie South Canterbury Second, Division League has had drafted a platform and proposals in regard to pay and pensions. The platform is non-political, tho .league to belli the Government to carry out the Military "A"cts, and endeavour to • secure adequate pay. allowances, and pensions for all soldiers and dependants, and co-operate with other league:;. Tho proposals to he submitted to a gcn<-ral meeting include that the pay of a private shall not bo less than 7s. fid. a day, a»d Is. separation allowance for his wiTc and Is. fid. for each child, from the day of enlistment. -Tho pension, it is proposed, shall net be less than the soldier's pay in service: for total disablement the amount of death pension, plus £1 a week; for partial disablement an allowance to bring tho income to equal that of total .disablement: tho Government tn pay soldiers' obligations as defined Ivy the Regulations of January 16. 1917 (not exceeding £2 per week). Membership of the league is open to all over twentyone.
