CONVICTIONS IN 'AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, April 12. ln_ the Police Court to-day, Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., delivered judgment in cases wherein fourteen keepers of soft drinks shops or restaurants were charged with Sunday trading in that they sold soft. drinks. The judgment was to the effect that, though no objection could he taken to the supply of soft drinks with meals or afternooh tea, the supply of such by themselves could not ho considered a work of necessity. !As the practico had been tacitly permitted for a number of years, the Magistrate imposed no ponalty, entering a conviction only.
