RETURNING, TRIPPERS FROM THE SOUTH; .By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christc'iiurch, April 9. Many soldiers returning to Welling* ton from Easter leave in. the south were held up at Lyttelton to-night owing to tho Mararoa, being a full boat. A good number had booked their, berths, but all soldiers arriving by the second express were refused admission 'to the ferry steamer. _ About 200, in-. tending passengers being left on, the wharf. The blockage ! was caused by only ; one vessel being available for the return of the passengers who came southby the Maori on Wednesday, and the Mararoa and Te Anau on Thursday, last. Considerable difficulty was experienced by the- disappointed soldiers and certain passengers in obtaining accommodation in the city. ■ .
