A BUSY EASTER
1, —. FINE WEATHER AND CROWDS OF VISITORS. Whether it. was the holidays 1 , the .threatened early curtailment of railway transit, and the unlooked-for liberation of a large body of troops from the camps, or all three reasons, Wellington probably has never experienced;such a.busy Easter as tho present one, and that without any special attraction to draw people here from outside. Ono familiar with Wellington's streets could not fail to note the very large crowds of strangers that thronged the. streets all day Saturday and during the ovening. At times it was difficult to make headway along the footpaths. The trams did'heavy • business the whole day, and tradespeople aro making no complaints. Saturday was a perfect summer's day, and yesterday was also fine.
