A COMMITTEE APPOINTED.' The Government has appointed a "llcquisitions Committee".to advise the Minister concerning tho purchase of commodities already requisitioned for the uso of tho Imperial authorities, and of any Hoods which may.in future be requisitioned for a like, purpose. The members of the hoard or committee are: Mr. W. G. Foster, Mr. AY. D. Stewart, and Mr. C. J. Reakes, all of Wellington. ■•'.. .*".■'. . . The committee is to work under the direction of the Minister in Chareo of the Imperial Supplies Department. Its first duties are.apparently to he advisory, but it may. subject •to the ap■proval of the Minister, organise and direct tho control of any scheme that may be introduced for the, acquisition of any : supplies: ' litis control, however, :is not to extend to'the clerical or financial or (.trior duties entrusted to the Controller of the Imperial Supplies Department.
