'.Cameron, Chancellor of the University of Otago, ■ appealed on behalf of Thomas Adams,, Professor of Latin and Greek, whoj'bluntarily enlisted. Evidence was given , that-'it was impossible to replace Professor Adams. There were only three. people in the Dominion capable of replacing him, and they were engaged elsewhere.- His assistant,/ a young 1 lady, might carry on under a modified programme.
