BRITISH COMMITTEE'S REPORT. London, March 25.
I The report of Lord. Selborne's Com-' mitiee on the increase of home-grown.' food supplies recommends the estab-, lishment of wages boards and guaran-. teed minimum prices for wheat and oats. It suggests a tariff on imported, dairy produce, meat, and corn,-if sm-' ported manufactured goods are taxed/ and the appointment of assessors empowered'to supersede owners of badlyfarmed land. It declares that rabbits must be recognised as a curse to agriculture and forestry. 'The Government has appointed & committee under Lord Deronport (Food, Controller) to co-ordinate , and organise • the resources of Home and imported meat for the army and civil population.: —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.' .
