DRESS REFORM
Sir,—The extravagance displayed by some with regard to dress is very regrettablo at this time... Cannot some body of women, say, the National Reserve, givo a lead in_ this, and help tho young and inexperienced to realise that we are in the midst of war, and that display of any kind at such a time appears very unseemly and unpatriotic. It is thoughtlessness to a very great extent, I feel sure, of young people who have never had the handling of money before, to walk Lambton Quay, so attired. The working girl is easily discerned by her 'showy and conspicuous dross. Why cannot those of all classes who are really 'patriotic show a good example by dressing in tho plainest and simplest manner, and prove to all they are really on active service.—l am, etc., ,-, • ■ A SISTER ON ACTIVE SERVICE..
