—— — HAWKE'S BAY ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Woodvillo, March 22. Tho thirty-ninth annual conference of tho Hawke's Bay district Now Zealand Branch of the Manchester TJnity, 1.0.0.1 T., was held hero on Wednesday. Present were:—Provincial G.M. H. Chadwick, in the chair; Deputy P.G. M, AVhitton, in the vice-chair; Prov. Co. J. B. Fiolder: Guardian, P.G.J. Franklin, and delegates from Napior, Waipawa, Hastings, AYaipukurau, Ormondville, Dannevirke, Tikokino, Clive, Taradale, and Wairoa. Tho Mayor welcomed tho visitors on behalf of the citizens. The report of tho district management committee was read, and most of tho clauses wore passed. A resolution was carried that tho conference regrets that tho Board of Direotors did not take the opportunity _ of becoming an approved friendly society under tho Act. The conference was in. favour of the New Zealand branch becoming an approved society. The election of officers resulted as under :-P.G.M. H. AVhitton; P.D.G.M., T. Milburn; committees —District Management: H. Quigley; Arbitration: H. Bull, S. Cooper, \Y. Martin, G. Love, A. Jull, T. Keith, C. Cowbrick,' W. Newborn, Quigloy; book examiners: H. Bull, W. Martin; auditors, Krogh, Cowbrick, and T. Thomas.
