SOLDIERS' PROPERTY
PROTECTED FItOM< DISTRAINT. Additional regulations under the War (Regulations Act, having for their obI ject tho protection of the estates or soldiers on active service (officers, n.c.o.'s, and privates), are the subject of an Order-in-Couneil gazetted on Saturday. The Order-in-Council reads as followc: — Without the previous consent in writing of the Attorney-General it shall not he lawful for any person to issue or be concerned in the issue of any process of execution against the property of a soldier in pursuance of any judgment, decree, or order of any Court in its civil jurisdiction, whether obtained before or after the making of theso regulations. Without tho previous consentjn writing of the Attorney-General it shall not bo lawful for any person to seize or sell the property of any sooldicr by way of distress for rent. Without the previous consent ; n writing of the Attorney-General it shall not be lawful for any person to file a bankruptcy petition against a soldier.
