WATERSIDERS' PICNIC

A meeting of the Waterside Workers' Union was held last evening in X Store waiting-room, Mr. L. Glover presiding. Mr. A. Callings, 6ecrotary of the picnic committee, recommended that tho annual picnic be held on Wednesday next at Maidstone Park, Upper Hutt. The recommendation was adopted. The usual sports programme will be carried out, and contributions to tho fund aTe coming in readily. A new feature of tho event will be a first, second and third prize, which i«p offered for the best essay on the labour movement. Tho competition is open to members' children of 11 and under.
