Any steps which wore necessary to pro toot tho people of New Zealand Would ho taken. Ho was more anxious, however, about tho control at this end. Onco the Trust, got control of tlio London meat marlict it would .squeeze not only tho consumers in Europe, but the producers in Australia and New Zealand.
Sir Joseph Ward said that it was up to tho statesmen i>r Great, Britain and the. Dominions lo devise a tariff which would! safeguard mutual interests and the interests of the Empire— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
