LORD FRENCH'S SISTER

SEVERELY WOUNDED AT MONASTER. (Rec. March 10, 6.55 p.m.) London, March 9. Lord French's.- sister, Mrs. Harloy, matron of the Scottish Hospital, was severely wounded at Monastir.—Aus.N.Z. Cablo Assn.

Dr. Ada Patterson is visiting Christchurch.

Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Edman (South Australia) and their two daughters have left Wellington for Christclvurch.

Mrs. W. D. Lysnar (Gishorne) is visiting Christclmrch.

Miss Drummond (Fcndalton, Cliristclmrch) is visiting relatives in Wellington.

Mrs. M'Gill and Mrs. Bradley, of Seatoun, will be in charge of the Red Cross Shop, Woodward Street, on Wedinesday.

Mr. and) Mrs. Holden Webb (Singapore) are visiting New Zealand, and are staying with Mrs. Webb, Nelson.

Sister Brandon, of the • hospital ship Marama, is on furlough at tho present time, and is staying with her sister, Mrs. Harty.

The late Mrs. Henry White, whose death was recorded in tho Auckland! "Herald" as having occurred on March 5, was the eldest daughter, of tho late Mr. James N. Ward, formerly elwP officer of the steamer William Denny, which traded between Auckland and Sydney, and was wrecked at the North Cape. Mr. Ward was subsequently chief accountant in the Colonial Treasury in Auckland. Mrs. White leaves a largo family, which is represented at the front by one sou—Mr. A. W. White, who was also in the Boer war— and three grandsons, one of whom is captain Claude White, now serving in France.

Mrs. Putnam, who accompanied Captain Putnam to Egypt and r England, has returned to Palmerston North with her husband. While in England' Mrs. Putnam was busily engaged in war work, and along with many other New Zealand ladies contribute?:! not a littte to the valuable work done by the Empire's women in tho great world struggle.
