ST. PATRICK'S DAY.

Interest in the coming St. Patrick's Day celobrations is growing, and the energetic and enterprising committee are gradually, bringing their powers of organisation to the point to which the members nspiro. All the Catholic schools and St. Patrick's College havo entered for the various items on tho sports programme, whilst invitations have been extended to the public schools to enter the competitions. ' A large number of entries is expected from tho soldiers in camp. Some 300 boys aro being trained for 6pectafiular displays and organised games, whilst a special iprogrammo of national dancing has been arranged. A feature of the celebrations will l>e the procession, which will leave St. Mary's, Bonlcott Street, after the 9 o'clock Mass. Tho national concert in the evening promises to be a. great success. An excellent programme of national items has been prepared, and the committee has secured the services of the best talent procurable in New Zealand. Mr. Fred Q. Bourke, a baritone, is being specially Drought from Auckland. Mrs. R. Amers Power will como from Dunedin. She is the possessor of an operatic contralto voice. The leading talent of Wellington will support these artists, and tho public will havo an opportunity of enjoying an excellent and artistic programme for popular prices. The Trno British Spirit.
