Albany (New York), March 2. The United Press announces that Governor Whitman, has directed the State Athletic Commission to prohibit Les Darcy (of Australia) enteruig the ring on Monday against Jack Dillon (of America), on the ground that he is nothing but a slacker. Darcy is also ' prohibited from taking part in any contest within the State. Governor Whitman said he 1 understood that Darcy was a runaway from Australia, who is afraid to fight' for the cause in which his fellow-countrymen have sacrificed their lives/ He preferred to give a brutal exhibition at some personal risk, for a purse of sis thousand sterling.—Aus.-N.Z.
