EFFECT OF RESTRICTIONS. Paris, March 2. Ifc is officially announced that the. Government is carefully considering the effect on French trade of the restriction of British imports. France has' entered upon pourparlers with London, which are being actively followed up. The British scheme includes pro-, vision for tho grantiug of certain concessions. Tho French Government lias the best reasons for thinking that Britain will give French exports the bcue- ' fit of special licenses to an extent which will cnablo her legitimate interests to bo safeguarded.—Aus.-N.Z.
