FARMER WHO MISLED THE BOARD
CASE AT PALMERSTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, February 28. Vernon Elijah Hunt, a farmer, of Mangatiiinoka, who was granted military leave at, Masterton on January 10 on tlie ground that he' was supporting his parents, appeared before the Military Board hero to-duy. Captain Walker said tha't the appellant had misled the board, and that he should bo made an example of. The appellant said he had misled tho hoard, and was very sorry for it. The chairman said that the hoard had no jurisdiction in the matter, and could not punish- appellant. It could merely rescind its previous decision, and lie had no doubt that Hunt would tie suitably dealt with by tho military authorities.
The previous decision to grant leave was. therefore rescinded.
