I « .. MOTORING ACCIDENT TO MR, lAN SIMSON..: By Telegraph—Press Association. Walroa, February 22. Mr. Lan Simson, a candidate for the Hawke'6 Bay seat, and Air. O'Donoghue, secretary of the Liberal League, met with an accident on the NapierWairoa Road yesterday, between Wair kare and Mohaka. Their car, driven by K. J. Smith, got into a rut, and the party alighted to extrioate it, hut' the steering-gear sent it in the opposite direction, and the car went over a bank, making four somersaults, tho driver hanging on to the wheel. When the car stopped, Smith was found under it. The engine was still going. Smith is somewhat injured, and is confined to his bed. The.party reached Mohaka after walking some mil^s, r and later went to Wairoa by car. reaching there at 7.45 p.m. Mr. Simsbn speaks at 8 p.m. to-morrow.
