-Sir—l spent half an hour at a oertain picture show this week, and came mv.iv disgusted with the performance, , which I considered to he vulgar m the extreme. The idea of children being permitted to wateli such common behaviour ! I tremble to think what mil. be screened next. When I look around at tho penole .ibsorhing that monotonous stupidity, I came to the conclusion that .the standard of refinement as wanting. Surely a soldier, or any other man who respects his girl friends, would not stoop to take them to such an entertainment! Another film was most deteriorating to morality, for lanminec was screened which must have made any modest girl Mush. is such a variety of subjects to choose from —historical classics, scenery, industries, and so on, among which would be, the encouragement of high ideals, that I fail to see why the kincma ignores them. .
