RED CROSS ART UNION

Of all the art unions which have been promoted to raise funds in connection .with the war, none have been more deserving of generous support than that ill aid of the Red Cross, the prizes for which have been provided by Taihape farmers. Whilst all cannot be angels of mercy, all can at least help the Bed Cross volunteers who fill tliat humane role. The opportunity is now, when funds are urgently needed. An advertisement in this'issue contains a" coupon by which every good-hearted person may apply for_ an art union ticket at the modest price of one shilling. Each Is. ticket has 31 chances in 1000 sheep. It lias been arranged that tile money raised in each district by the sale of these tickets shall bo allotted to the Red Cross in the respective districts, less 5 per cent., which will go to the promoting district of Taihape. Red Cross workers or business people in towns or country who will assist in selling tickets are earnestly requested to write to the secretary. To encourage the children to take an earnest interest in Red Cross work a prize of .£1 will be awarded the boy or girl under 1G years of age who writes the best appeal on behalf of the Red Cross, of about 200 words.
